The Ripple Effect held a 2 day Wellness conference at the Albert Luthuli Hospital in Durban. This conference was well attended by government and corporate companies. The event was opened with the ‘Diski dance’ as an excellent prelude to the Soccer World Cup. Tibb presented a talk on the ‘4 temperaments’ and was thoroughly enjoyed by the attendees at the conference. Each person was also given a free sample of Stress Away tablets.
The Durban University of Technology ( DUT) held a Wellness Day on the 8 June 2010. This event was attended by all the students and faculty members at the university. The Tibb table was kept busy with temperament evaluations for all those that were at the table and 2 ‘stress management’ gift hampers were given away.
Madrasah Tarteelul Quraan Lil Banaati Wan Nisaa in Pietemaritzburg held a Wellness Fair on the 12 June 2010. This was well attended by ladies in the community and the programme was focused on Women’s Health. Tibb delivered the talk on ‘temperament and health’ and the ladies were fascinated to learn about this system of medicine as many of them are already users of Tibb medication.
The Diabetes Support group was held on 24 June 2010 in Queensburgh. The attendees were treated to diabetic selection of baked goods as well as a talk on detoxifying the body.

The Tibb Total Wellness Team in Durban had a very productive month in May. We were extensively involved in 3 Wellness Days, 1 health expo and 2 workshops on Stress Management and Diabetes.
The Chatsworth Hospice held a Health and Wellness fair at their premises on the 2 May 2010. It was well attended by members of the community who gave generously with hearts and wallets open, to help the Hospice raise funds for the work they are doing. The Tibb Total Wellness Team sold head massagers, stress balls, stress oils and cd’s and donated a portion of their sales to the Hospice.
Tetra-Pak, Pinetown held a Wellness Day for their staff at the company on the 17 May 2010. The Tibb Total Wellness Team was in charge of Stress Management for the day. The factory and management staff were given a workshop on the temperaments and lifestyle factors and shown proper breathing techniques, self- hand massage, relaxation and meditation techniques that they could take home and practice. The interactive workshop was enjoyed by the attendees and was only interrupted now and again with peals of laughter as the personality evaluations were read out for each temperament.
The South African Society of Occupational Health Nurses held its national conference at the Elangeni Hotel in Durban on the 19 May 2010. This day-long conference was accompanied by pomp and grandeur as the Elangeni is one of the finest hotels for conference delegates in Durban. The nurses were treated to speakers from the heath and wellness industry, speaking on a broad range of topics in this field. One of the the highlights of the day was the delicious meals and snacks that the hotel is famous for. The Tibb table was very popular as the nurses were able to view our stress management material . Tibb held a lucky draw where prizes were handed out to 3 lucky recipients.
St. Annes Netcare Hospital, Pietermaritzburg held a Wellness Week 24 – 28 May 2010 in the hospital for the staff, patients, doctors and visitors to the hospital. This was a lovely venue with many smiling, cheerful staff which is a refreshing change to the usual expected hospital atmosphere. The Tibb table focused its efforts on raising awareness on the Unani-Tibb system of medicine regarding temperament and qualities. This was very well received by the staff and the doctors and nurses at the hospital who were fascinated by this ‘new’ approach to medicine.
Virgin Active, Bluff held a Wellness day on the 29 May 2010. This was attended by the members of the gym and the trainers and staff at the gym. The Tibb Table had a constant flow of people who were very excited at the personality evaluations and especially at the different types of exercise suitable for each temperament as well as the advice on diet in regards to their temperament.
